Reason for Track Choice*

Being part of a team that manages internet connectivity to all government institutions, I work as a network and system administrator, managing network nodes and services. We use BGP and OSPF. Having previously (Afnog-2010) pursued SI-E, this track will deepen my understanding of advanced routing techniques and help me manage better our internet connections.

My title is Broadband Systems Specialist, it involves managing different network nodes and systems (DNS and monitoring) and administering different hosting platforms mainly web and mail systems.
As one of our organization mission is to lower internet prices in the country, using government funds, I see myself very much participating in increasing the internet penetration within the country, which will in turn make information available easily.

Working on daily basis on network nodes that provide pretty much the whole government plus schools and health center, with internet connectivity, as well as making sure that all internet systems (mainly DNS) are available all the time, I see this training track really addressing my needs with regards to my job requirements. With the knowledge I've acquired over the past 5 years, I believe this track will help sharpen my mind on matters related to advanced internet routing.

I am currently guiding university students on their final-year project, where I am encouraging them to use open source application. 
In one project, the student is working on IP Anycast, implememting a DNS system using open source application such as Bind and Quagga.
